A nice couple of white hatches in, 130 and 135. Both very nice rides
BMW 650 V8 Twin Turbo.
In for some LiquiMoly servicing, and Battery replacement…
One of our 3 BMW courtesy cars has been out and about and hardly seen onsite so today it got a complete cleanout and tidy up ready for more customers to continue to enjoy.
One week later and TOY001 gets some attention… Maybe next weekend we will have TOY002 back..
Pre-purchase check done on this, resulted in a service and detail for the new owner.
Very nice, low mileage, NZ new car…. going to the South Island but likely back to us for servicing which will be nice….
So we got lucky and was were invited along by our NZ oil supplier of LiquiMoly to attend the 12hr endurance race in Bathurst Australia. Being a car guy this was an opportunity I just could not turn down. Its a circuit and atmosphere that did not disappoint!!! I thought I would share some pics from the weekend….
Pre race day, our first visit to the track.,
Below; The one and only Ferrari on track makes P1 for race day.
Aston, one of the first cars in.
Sunrise, the cars have been out for a while, best part of the day before the Australian heat came on.. Great time for ‘cars and coffee’.
A nice walk around the top of the mountain
Oops, looks like someone’s writing more cheques, Lamborghini pushed off…(
The winner, last lap!!!
Noisy chain, stretched chain, noisy start up rattles.
Continuing to build on our service tool collection, just picked up this cam locking tool for N12 and N14 Bmw/mini engines and put it straight to use today.
Stretched timing chain on these models seem to have surfaced as a common concern. Todays car the chain had stretched to the point the timing had jumped resulting in a heavy reduction in power and the check engine light coming on. Others we’ve done have a heavy rattle on start up. All have exhibited problems with less than 100,000km’s on the clock.
Above and below showing the cam locking tool in place to allow the chain and gears to be removed without the cams moving/ not seen is the crankshaft is also locked in place with a pin.
Lovely little E30
We are told there has been some heavy tuning gone on in here, nothing too obvious looking in here aside from the aftermarket air filters.. Think they may have hidden away nicely a big intercooler too…..
We have found the need to start stocking oil filters for some more of the main stream vehicles that are coming through, and in many cases we can offer genuine filters if requested.
Some genuine BMW filters now part of our usual stock on site.
Here’s just a couple sitting out the front this morning….
